Research Overview

The unit (BMA) provides the technical support and research environment necessary for life sciences including neuroscience in RIKEN. BMA staff with highly specialized knowledge and skills perform accurate and rapid analysis and synthesis of biological materials (e.g., nucleic acid, peptide, protein, etc.) as requested by research teams. The customized technical support section TPSS, which has staff with diverse experimental techniques, provides flexible assistance to meet the needs of research teams. Furthermore, we maintain and manage more than 150 instruments installed in the shared experimental facilities, and organize educational seminars and research equipment exhibitions as the dissemination of research techniques.
