Ceremony for the opening of the collaborative research room shared by RIKEN Center for Brain Science (CBS) and the Graduate School of Medicine of The University of Tokyo

RIKEN CBS set up a collaborative research room at the University of Tokyo Campus aiming to further strengthen collaborative research with the Graduate School of Medicine of The University of Tokyo and to foster young researchers in both organizations.
The opening ceremony was attended by CBS Director Miyashita Yasushi, Graduate School of Medicine of The University of Tokyo professor Okabe Shigeo, and members involved in the establishment of the room. During the ceremony, a plaque was unveiled and a commitment to mutual cooperation was affirmed by both sides, RIKEN CBS and University of Tokyo. Also, a discussion took place about the need to improve the power of science in Japan.
In the future, the collaborative research room is expected to be used for collaborative research project meetings, discussions between graduate school students and undergraduate students, research group meetings, as well as seminars. It will be operated as a hub that serves as the primary place for collaborative research engagement between both organizations.
